SPAR-PROTECT
We have recently obtained a new material developed for packing masts and spars of all kinds. Called SPAR-PROTECT, strips of hardboard are sandwiched between sheets of plastic to form a product that can be wrapped around delicate or valuable spars. This, combined with bubble-wrap, and batten strengthening around lifting points creates the best possible protection for your spars.
We have already put the new system into use and initial reports are very positive.

New P&M Spar-Protect in Italy
P & M Packing's new Spar-Protect system was selected by the 75' Titan XII for her trip to Hong Kong from Cantieri Navali di La Spezia in Italy.
This unique system includes P & M PackingŒs Spar Protect material used with a combination of packing materials, to create a lightweight robust protection package, including reinforced strengthening around lifting points and integral support cradles for spars in transit.
One of the P & M Packing specialist spar team was sent on an urgent trip to La Spezia to pack up the rig, following her successful Med circuit results in 2007 at Les Voiles de St Tropez and the Maxi Rolex Cup.
